With 7 months to go before national signing day, SDS will spend the month of July counting down the best current commitments in the SEC.
Here’s a day-by-day ‘month of July’ look at the top 31 players who are already committed to SEC schools, counting them down from No. 31 down to No. 1 on July 31st.
No. 29 – Marcus Lewis, DB, 6-1/190
COMMITTED TO: Florida
HOMETOWN/SCHOOL: Washington D.C. (Gonzaga)
NAT. RANKING: No. 118 overall prospect in America.
NAT. POS. RANKING: No. 8 “athlete” in America.
LEWIS TELLS SDS: “In the SEC, they play fast and physical. I like Florida a lot and I can’t wait to be there.”
THE SKINNY: Lewis could play cornerback, receiver, you name it. He’s a versatile athlete who has blazing speed (4.38 seconds in the 40-yards dash). He’s from the same neck of the woods as Florida’s prized 2014 DB signee, Jalen Tabor. Both hail from the Washington (D.C.) area, which is also former Gator star DB Joe Haden’s old stomping grounds. Lewis has said he plans a high school transfer to Bradenton’s IMG Academy by this fall.
