South Carolina, Auburn in running back’s top three

He’s considered one of the top all-purpose running backs in the nation–and he has three clear favorites now.

Traveon Samuel is a super slick and quick back who stands 5-foot-8, 180 pounds and possesses 4.41 second 40-yard dash speed. He can explode out of the backfield or he can be a potent receiver–as evidenced by his 43 receptions and 734 yards receiving as a sophomore in high school. He’s out of Phenix City (Ala.), so it may be Auburn’s race to lose here.

Samuel told that he loves Auburn’s offense and feels he would fit it incredibly well, but at the same time he loves the South Carolina staff’s comparison of him to Ace Sanders, who could do just about anything for the Gamecocks.

It’s a win-win situation for Samuel. He is rated the No. 11 all-purpose back in America and one of the state of Alabama’s top prospects. He said he’d like to make his final decision known in December.
