South Carolina is No. 1 in SEC recruiting for month of June

NCAA Football: Clemson at South Carolina

Hey, it’s hard enough to win the heart of one top recruit, much less have the best month in the SEC. South Carolina can claim exactly that for June, edging out redhot Texas A&M for the SEC’s most productive month, recruiting wise.

An eye-popping eight players committed to the Gamecocks in the month of June, including three four-star prospects. The month saw a former commit come back into the fold (Arden Key) and one of Virginia’s best players come aboard in Austin Clark. Octavis Johnson is another stud out of Georgia who joined the class. Couple all of that with the fact that JUCO studs D.J. Jones and Marquavius Lewis could eventually join the Gamecocks, and one understands why the program is rated the No. 6 class in the nation.

“It will be a challenge but every young athlete’s dream (to play in the SEC),” June commit Jalen Henry told Saturday Down South. “The thing that make the Gamecocks great are the great group of people that surround you. It’s great to be a Gamecock today and tomorrow. It’s time to jell with my team. Go Gamecocks!”
