Three more SEC recruits switch schools Tuesday

The Tuesday before signing day is sometimes just as crazy as signing day.

Already today, three SEC commitments changed course and picked other non-conference schools–and one former SEC commitment looks like he may be heading back to the conference.

  • Four-star defensive back Kendall Gant switched to Marshall. Gant had some academic issues that had the Bulldogs wanting him to go the junior college route, his high school coach told The Athens Banner-Herald. So instead of going the JUCO route, Gant decided to go to Marshall.
  • Four-star all-purpose back Varshaun Nixon left Texas A&M without any running backs in its class. He switched over to TCU.
  • And the rumor came true when Chris Williams, the three-star defensive back committed to Alabama, switched to UCF. He also was having some academic problems, reportedly.
  • And former Vanderbilt DE commit Lloyd Tubman, who followed James Franklin to Penn State (briefly), is now looking to sign with Kentucky. He is from Seneca (Ky.).
