Top 100 national prospect chooses Georgia, Bulldogs move up 7 spots

National top 100 prospect Natrez Patrick could try to throw people off his trail, but I mean really … it seemed Georgia was the team to beat for some time.

Patrick, a four-star defensive end who is rated No. 69 overall in the nation, revealed his college choice on Friday. Prior to his high school’s spring game (he plays at Mays H.S. in Atlanta), he told reporters that Alabama and Auburn were no longer in the picture, leaving only the Bulldogs and Ole Miss in the mix. Then … he trimmed the Rebels.

Georgia now has 8 commitments for the class of 2015, including five that are of the four-star variety or better. Patrick is the No. 2 ranked Georgia commitment behind Terry Godwin, an athlete who is rated No. 24 overall in the country and has a five-star rating. Patrick is the first Georgia commitment since JUCO DE Quincy Vasser came on board almost exactly a month ago.

With Patrick’s decision, Georgia moved up 7 spots to No. 14 in the country.
