Marlon Humphrey will not be pushed into anything. He’s not going to join a boatload of other recruits announcing during a national all-star game, and he’s not automatically just going to choose his future school based on his father’s legacy.
Humphrey is his own man. He wants to participate in track and field, and has made that very clear to Alabama and Florida State–his two frontrunners. He has Olympic level potential in the sport, and he wants to pursue his dreams there too. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound five-star cornerback chose an announcement date, and put it on Twitter on Christmas Day.
“February 1st I will be signing my papers to play somewhere for the next few years of my life :),” read the Tweet from @marlon_humphrey.
Humphrey is rated the No. 1 cornerback in the nation and the No. 5 overall prospect in the country. He’s the second-biggest SEC target who is uncommitted, behind RB Leonard Fournette. The cornerback is the son of former Alabama RB star Bobby Humphrey.
