Raymond Wingo’s big brother may have starred at Arkansas, but the younger brother is ready to blaze his own trail in college football–and he has decided to head to Missouri.
Wingo is from St. Louis (Mo.), so it’s not a shock that he’s staying in-state with the SEC East champion Tigers, but the allure of playing where his brother Ronnie Wingo did was enough to make people think he might head to Fayetteville to play for the Razorbacks. That didn’t happen though.
Wingo, a speedy 5-foot-10, 175-pound cornerback prospect, was clearly one of Mizzou’s top remaining targets to land before national signing day. He was just coming off his official visit to see the Tigers, but he also had visits set up with Michigan State, Arkansas and Auburn in January. Originally, he planned to visit Arkansas this past weekend, but changed his plans at the last second–and his commitment was the end result.
The younger Wingo is rated a three-star prospect in the 247Sports.com composite ranking, but some services have him as a four-star recruit.
The older Wingo is playing running back for the Buffalo Bills.
