Top QB prospects from the state of Florida since 2008

Brian McLaughlin/SDS

It’s fun to look back and see which prognostications were correct and which were way off. When it comes to the state of Florida, the recruiting rankings haven’t been far off when rating quarterbacks the last few years.

Since 2008, the No. 1 ranked quarterback coming out of Florida has been Jeff Driskel. That’s stunning considering Aaron Murray, Geno Smith, Denard Robinson and Teddy Bridgewater have also come through during the same span (for the record, Tim Tebow was in the 2006 class). Driskel still has two years to prove he deserves his lofty perch coming out of high school, and the new offense fits his skill set better, but right now he’s looking like an underachiever opposed to the QBs who are No. 2 through No. 5.

Here’s a look at the top 10 quarterback recruits that came from the state of Florida since 2008.
