If the last couple of days are any indication of things to come, Georgia fans are going to be pretty happy. Not a bad couple of days since new defensive coordinator and recruiting gem Jeremy Pruitt came aboard.
The first two items of news bode well for the 2015 signing class. Terry Godwin, a do-everything type of athlete, is a top 20 player nationally and made his early commitment over the weekend, while Top 100 prospect Rico McGraw came aboard late last week. McGraw is a cornerback, while Godwin could play receiver, on defense and even contribute on special teams. Godwin and McGraw join 6-foot-5 wide receiver Christian Owens to form a nice trio for 2015, a great start for the Bulldogs. Godwin and Owens are in-state products, while McGraw is a kid out of Tennessee that the Vols certainly would have liked to have kept home.
Also joining the Bulldogs is Rico Johnson, a previous commitment who went the prep school route this past fall. He was denied qualifier status last summer by the NCAA Clearinghouse and had to go the long way to get to Athens, playing last fall at Georgia Prep Sports Academy. He’s rated a three-star prospect at wide receiver, and the No. 6 prep school prospect in the nation.
