Uncommitted countdown: Best 30 SEC targets available- No. 24 DT Albert Huggins

SDS will count down the 30 biggest SEC targets still available around the country–these are the players SDS thinks realistically could end up signing with an SEC school. Obviously there are players with SEC offers out west and up north, but if it looks like they aren’t seriously considering the SEC, we didn’t include them in this series.

Here’s a day-by-day ‘month of June’ look at the top 30 realistic SEC targets left in the country, ranking them from No. 30 down to No. 1 on June 30th.

No. 24 – Albert Huggins, DT, Orangeburg (S.C.), 6-3/280

SEC OFFERS: Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Missisippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Tennessee.
NAT. RANKING: No. 61 overall prospect in America.
NAT. POS. RANKING: No. 11 defensive tackle in America.
THE SKINNY: Huggins is full of personality, a true one-of-a-kind. He’s 6-foot-3, 280 pounds and very strong (benching 385 pounds, no problem). He could play strongside defensive end, but Huggins told SDS he really sees himself at defensive tackle. Most of the recruiting services see it the same way. In-state Clemson is one school to beat, but Huggins did tell SDS not to just hand it to the Tigers, that he has no idea why everybody thinks he’s a lock to Clemson. He insisted that he isn’t.
HUGGINS TELLS SDS: “My No. 1 goal is I have got to make you laugh. My parents raised me right. I think I have a good personality, and I always have a smile on my face. Hakuna Matata, man, Hakuna Matata. Like they say in the movie (Lion King), I don’t have worries. My life has changed since all of this has happened, but I hope I haven’t changed much. I really don’t show negative feelings, I just keep things going with an upbeat attitude and go with the flow.”
SDS PREDICTION: If he goes to the SEC, South Carolina or Georgia.

Editor’s note: For this particular series, Saturday Down South’s order for ‘likely SEC recruits’ is determined using the 247Sports.com industry composite ranking (as of June 1st ranking).
