Uncommitted countdown: Best 30 SEC targets available- No. 29 WR Alex Ofodile

SDS will count down the 30 biggest SEC targets still available around the country–these are the players SDS thinks realistically will end up signing with SEC schools. Obviously there are players with SEC offers out west and up north, but if it looks like they aren’t seriously considering the SEC, we didn’t include them in this series.

Here’s a day-by-day ‘month of June’ look at the top 30 realistic SEC targets left in the country, ranking them from No. 30 down to No. 1 on June 30th.

*NOTE: Later in June, Ofodile did in fact commit to a non-SEC program–Oregon.

No. 29 – Alex Ofodile, WR, Columbia (Mo.), 6-3/185

SEC OFFERS: Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mizzou, Ole Miss, Tennessee,
NAT. RANKING: No. 72 overall prospect in America.
NAT. POS. RANKING: No. 7 wide receiver in America.
THE SKINNY: Ofodile actually lives in the University of Missouri’s hometown of Columbia, but that doesn’t mean he’s a lock to be a Tiger just yet. Rated the No. 1 player in the state of Missouri, Ofodile has been shown a lot of love by powers like Notre Dame, Oregon and Ohio State, while Kentucky has also been in the mix. Look for one of these schools to land him–but the Tigers really, really want him.
SDS PREDICTION: Mizzou if he goes SEC, but non-SEC schools are trending.

Editor’s note: For this particular series, Saturday Down South’s order for ‘likely SEC recruits’ is determined using the 247Sports.com industry composite ranking (as of June 1st ranking).

  • Alex would really go well with the influx of receivers we have coming this year. That would give us a pretty nice receiving corp for two or three more years. if we get Alex along with Terry Beckner Jr while it might be a subpar class for a lot of SEC teams it would be a really nice class for us.

    • You guys get those two, ha ha … and you’re not going to be able to say your team was underrated in recruiting standings anymore, Zoucat. You’ll easily be top 15 with the group you already have, plus additions like that.
