Uncommitted countdown: Best 30 SEC targets available- No. 26 OL Drew Richmond

DrewRichmond-Top-Tennessee-Prospect

SDS will count down the 30 biggest SEC targets still available around the country–these are the players SDS thinks realistically will end up signing with SEC schools. Obviously there are players with SEC offers out west and up north, but if it looks like they aren’t seriously considering the SEC, we didn’t include them in this series.

Here’s a day-by-day ‘month of June’ look at the top 30 realistic SEC targets left in the country, ranking them from No. 30 down to No. 1 on June 30th.

No. 26 – Drew Richmond, OL, Memphis (Tenn.), 6-5/320

SEC OFFERS: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Missisippi State, Ole Miss, Tennessee.
NAT. RANKING: No. 66 overall prospect in America.
NAT. POS. RANKING: No. 6 offensive tackle in America.
THE SKINNY: Richmond is a stud offensive tackle and incredibly sharp, so no recruiter is going to take him for a ‘ride’, if you catch our drift. Richmond is playing the recruiting game well, and has several top schools in his list. He will announce his final decision on Sept. 9 via Twitter, with little fanfare, and he said Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss and Tennessee from the SEC made his final 11.
RICHMOND TELLS SDS: “You just have to be patient, that’s one thing I’ve learned … You just have to take your time with it. You have to watch and know what your man is doing … and adjust. You make a plan that ‘he can’t beat me’, that I’m on an island by myself and nobody is going to beat me.”
SDS PREDICTION: Tennessee by a hair over Ole Miss.

Editor’s note: For this particular series, Saturday Down South’s order for ‘likely SEC recruits’ is determined using the 247Sports.com industry composite ranking (as of June 1st ranking).

  • Richmond was at Ole Miss this week working out. He is really good friends with OG Javon Peterson. Peterson is a heavy Ole Miss lean. I look for both of them to end up at Ole Miss. Richmond is from Memphis, so that’s in Ole Miss back yard. From what I have been reading on the Rebels247 site, it sounds like Ole Miss is in great shape to land him.
