Uncommitted countdown: Best 30 SEC targets available- No. 18 DT Kahlil McKenzie

SDS will count down the 30 biggest SEC targets still available around the country–these are the players SDS thinks realistically will end up signing with SEC schools. Obviously there are players with SEC offers out west and up north, but if it looks like they aren’t seriously considering the SEC, we didn’t include them in this series.

Here’s a day-by-day ‘month of June’ look at the top 30 realistic SEC targets left in the country, ranking them from No. 30 down to No. 1 on June 30th.

No. 18 – Kahlil McKenzie, DT, De La Salle (Concord, Calif.), 6-4/330

SEC OFFERS: Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee.
NAT. RANKING: No. 35 overall prospect in America.
NAT. POS. RANKING: No. 7 defensive tackle in America.
THE SKINNY: McKenzie may be from California and may have the Pac-12 all over him, but on July 10 he’ll choose his school at NIKE’s The Opening in Oregon–and things are looking pretty good for Tennessee as McKenzie’s father and uncle both played there. His finalists are the Vols and Arizona. McKenzie is a bowling ball with an ferocious attitude and is big, athletic and runs hard.
SDS PREDICTION: Tennessee looks better and better every day.

Editor’s note: For this particular series, Saturday Down South’s order for ‘likely SEC recruits’ is determined using the 247Sports.com industry composite ranking (as of June 1st ranking).
