Uncommitted countdown: Best 30 SEC targets available- No. 30 LB Roquan Smith

SDS will count down the 30 biggest SEC targets still available around the country–these are the players SDS thinks realistically will end up signing with SEC schools. Obviously there are players with SEC offers out west and up north, but if it looks like they aren’t seriously considering the SEC, we didn’t include them in this series.

Here’s a day-by-day ‘month of June’ look at the top 30 realistic SEC targets left in the country, ranking them from No. 30 down to No. 1 on June 30th.

No. 30 – Roquan Smith, LB, Montezuma (Ga.), 6-2/205

SEC OFFERS: Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M.
NAT. RANKING: No. 76 overall prospect in America.
NAT. POS. RANKING: No. 6 outside linebacker in America.
THE SKINNY: Smith is the kind of stud prospect the Georgia Bulldogs need to keep home. He’s a true hitter, physical to the bone and makes up for not being 6-3, 240 by being quick and brutal. Auburn and Florida are also in the mix, but Georgia seems to be the team to beat here.
SMITH TELLS SDS: “(Georgia’s coaches) just love my motor and how I lay my hat on the ball carrier. It’s a nice college town … They say they love my speed and my playmaking ability and how everybody’s going spread (offense) so they need backers like me to run and hit.”
