Brady Cook and the Missouri Tigers won perhaps the most exciting game of the day on Saturday, taking down No. 15 Kansas State 30-27 on Harrison Mevis’s last-second 61-yard field goal.

That field goal was an SEC record. But in the aftermath of the win, some fans and media members were critical of Eli Drinkwitz’s late-game coaching and some of the struggles of the offense.

Cook, who had a big game at quarterback, addressed some of the heat he takes for his struggles. He said he’s living his dream playing quarterback at Mizzou and hopes it continues. but, he added, he does hear the critics:

“I hear it,” Cook said. “It’s hard. This is my dream school and all I want to do is play quarterback here. I’d like if everyone else wanted me to play quarterback here.”

If Cook keeps leading the Tigers to wins over top-15 programs like Kansas State, his future in CoMo should be secure. We’ll see how the tough quarterback progresses as the 2023 season continues.
