The SEC will participate in a conference-record 12 bowl games this year, providing most every fan base one final glimpse at this year’s team.

But while you’re busy watching SEC standouts this holiday season, you may want to have your eyes peeled for these electrifying players, all of whom face off against SEC foes.

NO. 10: EAST CAROLINA WR JUSTIN HARDY

Bowl: Birmingham (Jan. 3, 1 p.m. ET)
Opponent: Florida Gators
Jersey: No. 2
Measurables: 6-foot-1, 188 pounds
Why Watch: Hardy needs just 40 receiving yards to break into the NCAA Top 5 all-time for his career. He’s posted back-to-back seasons with more than 110 catches, teaming with QB Shane Carden and head coach Ruffin McNeill to form one of the most terrifying pass-catch combinations in all of college football outside of Amari Cooper-Blake Sims-Lane Kiffin.

NO. 9: IOWA OT BRANDON SCHERFF

Bowl: TaxSlayer (Jan. 2, 3:20 p.m. ET)
Opponent: Tennessee Volunteers
Jersey: No. 68
Measurables: 6-foot-5, 320 pounds
Why Watch: An Outland Trophy winner and unanimous All-American at left tackle, Scherff soon will be a high first-round NFL draft pick. But first he’ll go against a pass rush that features two players with double-digit sacks in Curt Maggitt and Derek Barnett. Scherff is the best offensive lineman either has faced all season.

NO. 8: TCU LB PAUL DAWSON

Bowl: Peach (Dec. 31, 12:30 p.m. ET)
Opponent: Ole Miss Rebels
Jersey: No. 47
Measurables: 6-foot-2, 230 pounds
Why Watch: Dawson is a one-man wrecking crew, exactly the kind of player the Ole Miss offense doesn’t want to see. The do-it-all first-team All-American has produced 128 tackles, five sacks and four interceptions.

NO. 7: NOTRE DAME QB EVERETT GOLSON

Bowl: Music City (Dec. 30, 3 p.m. ET)
Opponent: LSU Tigers
Jersey: No. 5
Measurables: 6-foot-1, 200 pounds
Why Watch: The high-profile soap opera. After spending an entire year training with guru George Whitfield Jr. due to academic suspension, Golson returned to light up college football on the way to a 6-0 start for the Irish (20 total TDs, four interceptions). Then he threw 10 interceptions in the final six games as Notre Dame collapsed. Which version will show up against LSU? Brian Kelly already has said backup Malik Zaire will play. How much time will Golson get?

NO. 6: LOUISVILLE S GEROD HOLLIMAN

Bowl: Belk (Dec. 30, 6 p.m. ET)
Opponent: Georgia Bulldogs
Jersey: No. 8
Measurables: 6-foot-1, 206 pounds
Why Watch: The All-American and Jim Thorpe Award winner intercepted a nation-best 14 passes this season. With one more pick, Holliman can break the NCAA all-time single-season record set by Washington’s Al Worley in 1968. But Georgia runs the ball effectively, and Bulldogs QB Hutson Mason has thrown just four interceptions all season. It should make for a fun matchup.

NO. 5: OHIO STATE DE JOEY BOSA

Bowl: Sugar (Jan. 1, 8:30 p.m. ET)
Opponent: Alabama Crimson Tide
Jersey: No. 97
Measurables: 6-foot-5, 285 pounds
Why Watch: The Big Ten defensive player of the year and consensus first-team All-American may be the best pass rusher Alabama has faced all season. Bosa has wracked up 13 sacks and 20 tackles for loss. But can he get around LT Cam Robinson and manage to catch QB Blake Sims?

NO. 4: WEST VIRGINIA WR KEVIN WHITE

Bowl: Liberty (Dec. 29, 2 p.m. ET)
Opponent: Texas A&M Aggies
Jersey: No. 11
Measurables: 6-foot-3, 210 pounds
Why Watch: White is getting Larry Fitzgerald comparisons ahead of the NFL draft. The Biletnikoff Award finalist went off for 143 yards against Alabama, 173 against Oklahoma, 132 against Baylor and 132 against Texas. What will he do against a coordinator-less, drifting Aggies defense?

NO. 3: MIAMI RB DUKE JOHNSON

Bowl: Independence (Dec. 27, 3:30 p.m. ET)
Opponent: South Carolina Gamecocks
Jersey: No. 8
Measurables: 5-foot-9, 206 pounds
Why Watch: One of the most underrated players in college football, Johnson came back from a broken ankle to produce nearly 1,900 yards of total offense and 13 touchdowns. He may be the most dangerous pass-catcher out of the backfield in college football due to his open-field elusiveness and tremendous burst. Can a poor Gamecocks defense contain him in what’s likely his Hurricanes goodbye?

NO. 2: TCU QB TREVONE BOYKIN

Bowl: Peach (Dec. 31, 12:30 p.m. ET)
Opponent: Ole Miss Rebels
Jersey: No. 2
Measurables: 6-foot-2, 205 pounds
Why Watch: This may be the most anticipated matchup in all of college football: Boykin, who finished fourth in the Heisman voting thanks to 38 total touchdowns, against a fierce Rebels secondary. The TCU quarterback can run or pass — a facsimile of Heisman winner Marcus Mariota, except smaller.

NO. 1: WISCONSIN RB MELVIN GORDON

Bowl: Outback (Jan. 1, noon ET)
Opponent: Auburn Tigers
Jersey: No. 25
Measurables: 6-foot-1, 207 pounds
Why Watch: Gordon, second in the Heisman behind Mariota, has a great chance to move into third all-time on the NCAA single-season rushing list (he currently claims 2,336 rushing yards). With Todd Gurley hurt, he may be the single-most electrifying player to watch in all of college football, all due respect to Mariota and Alabama’s Cooper. A threat to score from anywhere on the field, he’s a major headache for Auburn’s defense.

Also considered: Minnesota TE Maxx Williams, Minnesota RB David Cobb, Notre Dame LB Jaylon Smith, Ohio State QB Cardale Jones, Georgia Tech G Shaquille Mason, Miami TE Clive Walford, Ohio State DT Michael Bennett, Miami LB Denzel Perryman.
