The 2017 recruiting cycle is about to start heating up as prospects will begin making verbal commitments with junior day visits, spring practice visits and more.

So with that, here are three 2017 prospects on “commit watch” this spring. It should not come as a surprise that two are quarterbacks as players at that position tend to commit earlier.

Jake Bentley, QB (Opelika, Ala.) — The four-star quarterback is trending toward South Carolina, where his father is the running backs coach. The 6-foot-4, 210-pounder also likes Stanford, but the Gamecocks are trending as the team to beat and most of the time elite quarterbacks don’t go very deep in the cycle without committing.

Jerry Jeudy, WR (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) — Alabama and ace recruiter Mario Cristobal landed freshman All-American Calvin Ridley out of south Florida in the 2015 class and the Tide is in position to land another elite talent out of that area. Jeudy could be in the fold for Alabama as soon as the Tide’s “A Day” spring football game.

Lowell Narcisse, QB (St. James, La.) — The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Narcisse was committed to Auburn, but signs now are pointing toward him staying in-state and signing with quarterback-starved LSU. Narcisse is a difference-maker who could be a multi-season starter wherever he ends up, but the safe bet is he’s Baton Rouge-bound sooner rather than later.
