Gurley, Yeldon, Marshall, Coates, Fournette, Davis.  Those are some of the names being thrown around heading into this season as stars or potential stars.

But what about some under-the-radar players who could have a big impact this year?

Here are five names you’ll know by the end of the season:

Pharoh Cooper, WR, South Carolina (SO): Cooper was an All-SEC selection as an all-purpose back and return specialist amassing 655 all-purpose yards as a freshman.  He’s listed atop the depth chart at wide receiver entering the Gamecocks’ opener Thursday and is likely to return punts and kicks.  Cooper has flown under the radar so far with Shaq Roland opposite him getting lots of love.  Look for Cooper to be a favorite target for Dylan Thompson this season.

Andre Debose, WR, Florida (RSR): Debose sat out last year with a torn ACL, but when healthy is as big of a playmaker as anyone in the country.  He owns the school record with four kick return touchdowns and needs just one more to be the SEC leader.  Debose saw time at wide receiver and was the primary punt and kick returner for the Gators in 2012 when he set the school record for kick return average.  Debose should see lots of time at receiver and will be an excellent fit in Kurt Roper’s offensive system.

Jameon Lewis, WR, Mississippi St. (SR): Lewis has had a stellar career wearing the maroon and white, and is poised for a monster 2014.  Some speculate that with a good Mississippi State year, he could be a dark horse Heisman candidate.  Lewis has totaled nearly 3,000 all-purpose yards in his career and is the only player with a receiving, rushing, passing and kick return touchdown in Bulldog history.  Expect Dan Mullen and Dak Prescott to get the ball in his hands early and often.

Za’Darius Smith, DE, Kentucky (SR): The Greenville, Ala. native finished tied for third on the team in tackles last year and registered six and a half tackles for loss and six sacks.  Smith transferred to Kentucky as the nation’s No.10 JUCO prospect.  He went through the NFL Draft evaluation process but decided to return to Lexington and could be a breakout star in 2014.

Korliss Marshall, RB, Arkansas (SO): Marshall played in eight games for the Razorbacks and registered 586 all-purpose yards.  Marshall should have a great year running the ball for the Hogs and serving as a kick returner.  Marshall will split time in the backfield with Alex Collins and Jonathan Williams but could be an impact player in Fayetteville.
