Some teams have none of the luck.

And many of them play in the SEC West. Some that don’t still play Alabama.

Here are the five least favorable schedules for SEC teams in 2016.

Auburn

What other team in the land plays the two teams who met for the 2015 national championship? There’s no easing into 2016, not with Heisman frontrunner Deshaun Watson looming in the opener. At least Clemson visits Jordan-Hare. Auburn travels to Ole Miss and Alabama.

Opponents’ combined record in 2015: 100-56

Games vs. teams with winning records in 2015: 9

Games vs. expected ranked teams: 5

Non-conference slate: Clemson, Arkansas State, La.-Monroe, Alabama A&M

Kentucky

There’s no good time to have Alabama pop up on the schedule, but that’s the Wildcats’ fate in 2016. Not that location matters, but the Bear Bryant Bowl will be played in Tuscaloosa. It’s quite possible the Wildcats could go 0-5 on the road this season. Their other road dates are at Florida, Missouri, Tennessee and Louisville.

Opponents’ combined record in 2015: 84-73

Games vs. teams with winning records in 2015: 7

Games vs. expected ranked teams: 4

Non-conference slate: Southern Miss, New Mexico State, Austin Peay, at Louisville.

Tennessee

If the Volunteers make it to the SEC Championship Game — or beyond — they will have earned it. A neutral-site game against Virginia Tech at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway stands out for its uniqueness if not outright difficulty, but the Vols visit Georgia and cross over at Texas A&M and get Alabama at home. All of which happens in the first seven weeks.

Opponents’ combined record in 2015: 89-61

Games vs. teams with winning records in 2015: 7

Games vs. expected ranked teams: 4

Non-conference slate: Appalachian State, Virginia Tech, Ohio, Tennessee Tech

Texas A&M

As if the SEC West schedule weren’t burdensome enough — including at Auburn, at Alabama — the Aggies also take on UCLA, which will be highly ranked, and Tennessee. At least those two games will be at home.

Opponents’ combined record in 2015: 92-60

Games vs. teams with winning records in 2015: 9

Games vs. expected ranked teams: 4

Non-conference slate: UCLA, Prairie View A&M, New Mexico State, Texas-San Antonio

Georgia

Turns out the Bulldogs didn’t get every great running back from the state of North Carolina. Elijah Hood, who followed fellow Tar Heel prep products Keith Marshall and Todd Gurley, actually chose the Tar Heels. Georgia opens the season against UNC in the Georgia Dome and crosses over at Ole Miss and against Auburn in addition to playing East staples Florida and Tennessee.

Opponents’ combined record in 2015: 74-73

Games vs. teams with winning records in 2015: 5

Games vs. expected ranked teams: 3

Non-conference slate: North Carolina, Nicholls State, Louisiana, Georgia Tech
