CBS Sports listed the top-10 non-traditional non-conference games for the 2016 season and six of the 10 games feature a Southeastern Conference team. Teams typically try to get at least one marquee game on its non-conference schedule every season, and apparently, these six teams did a quality job in scheduling.

Just missing out on the top spot (No. 1 is Ohio State at Oklahoma) is Ole Miss-Florida State.

No. 2 – Ole Miss vs. Florida State (Citrus Bowl), Sept. 5

Robby Kalland of CBS Sports writes, “The newest kickoff game is in Orlando and will feature a delicious matchup on Monday night of the opening weekend of the season. Ole Miss loses some key players this offseason but still has Chad Kelly and the offensive firepower to put up points in bunches.

“Florida State will introduce a new quarterback this season with Deondre Francois as the front-runner to win the job and tons of talent all over the field including Dalvin Cook at running back and Derwin James – one of the nation’s freakiest athletes – on defense.”

As Kalland mentions, Kelly and the Rebels’ offense should be electric once again and Florida State is a College Football Playoff threat annually.

No. 4 – Alabama vs. USC (AT&T Stadium), Sept. 3

“I have this game a little further down the list because I question whether it will be all that competitive, but I’m still very interested in seeing how Alabama’s offense looks with yet another new quarterback and Bo Scarborough taking over at tailback for Lane Kiffin’s offense,” Kalland said.

With two national powers like these facing each other, there’s no question that college football fans across the country will be watching. Factor in that the game will be taking place in “Jerry’s World” and the Crimson Tide could be featuring a new five-star quarterback under center in Blake Barnett and this contest’s ratings should be through the roof.

Here are the remaining four that made the cut:

No. 5 – Georgia vs. North Carolina (Georgia Dome), Sept. 3
No. 7 – LSU vs. Wisconsin (Lambeau Field), Sept. 3
No. 8 – Clemson at Auburn, Sept. 3
No. 10 – Tennessee vs. Virginia Tech (Bristol Motor Speedway), Sept. 10
