Online sportsbook Bovada has posted early odds on the 2017 Heisman Trophy winner. Odds are available for 18 players, including six from the SEC.

Ten of the top 11 candidates are quarterbacks, including Alabama’s Jalen Hurts. In his freshman season, Hurts went 240-of-382 passing for 2,780 yards, 23 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. He also ran the ball 191 times for 954 yards and 13 touchdowns.

While Hurts could certainly be a candidate, Bovada places six other quarterbacks and Penn State RB Saquon Barkley (272 carries, 1,496 yards, 18 TD) ahead of him. Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield (254-of-358, 3,965 yards, 40 TD, 8 INT) is the site’s favorite at odds of 11:2. Last year’s winner, Louisville QB Lamar Jackson (230-of-409, 3,543 yards, 30 TD, 9 INT; 260 rushes, 1,571 yards, 21 TD) is third on the list at 7:1.

Lower on the list are SEC’s leading rushers last season in yards per carry (LSU RB Derrius Guice, 7.6 yards) and yards per game (Auburn RB Kamryn Pettway, 122.4 yards). The list also includes Georgia RB Nick Chubb, Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough and Mississippi State QB Nick Fitzgerald.
