More former SEC players will be taking the field when the Alliance of American Football begins its inaugural season next spring.

The new league announced another round of signings last week, after initially announcing the first 100 players who would be playing next spring.

This round of signings features a trio of former SEC quarterbacks — Alabama’s Blake Sims (Birmingham), LSU’s Zach Mettenberger (Memphis) and Texas A&M’s Trevor Knight (San Antonio).

The Alliance of American Football will feature teams in eight cities: Atlanta, Birmingham, Memphis, Orlando, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Antonio and San Diego.

The former SEC players signed during this round of additions are listed below:

Birmingham roster

  • Missouri tackle Tyler Howell
  • Alabama tackle Dominick Jackson
  • Alabama quarterback Blake Sims
  • Mississippi State linebacker Deontae Skinner
  • Alabama defensive back Bradley Sylve

Memphis roster

  • LSU linebacker Donnie Alexander
