Amari Cooper seems well on his way to proving that all the prognosticators were right to say he’d be a star in the NFL.

He’s certainly done that this season as a rookie with the Oakland Raiders.

Today against the Tennessee Titans, Cooper set the franchise rookie record for most receiving yards in a season. Cooper entered the day with 736 yards, which was 36 yards shy of topping the mark previously held by James Jett with 771 in 1993.

Cooper has 58 yards at halftime of today’s game, already giving him the record.

The 6-foot-1, 210-pounder was the 4th overall pick in last year’s draft out of Alabama, where he holds just about every single major receiving record, including career receptions (228), receiving yards (3,463) and receiving TDs (31).

Cooper already owns the Raiders’ rookie record for most receptions, entering this week’s action with 51, which is already seven more than Zach Miller’s 44 in 2007.
