This news should only intensify the recruitment of 2019 quarterback Bo Nix, as the Pinson, Ala., native won quarterback MVP at Atlanta’s star-studded The Opening regional camp over the weekend.

While competing against several players a year older from the 2018 recruiting class, including No. 1 dual-threat quarterback and Ohio State commit Emory Jones, Nix bested all other quarterbacks in attendance for the camp’s top honors under center.

The 6-foot-1, 180-pound Nix, the son of former Auburn starting quarterback Patrick Nix, recently received a scholarship offer to play for Alabama. The Tide were late to the party, however, as Ole Miss was the first SEC school to offer Nix and were quickly followed by Auburn, Tennessee, and Georgia. He currently ranks as the nation’s No. 2 dual-threat quarterback for 2019 and Alabama’s No. 2 overall prospect, according to 247Sports.

Judging by his ability to run, his speed, and more impressively his accuracy on the run, it’s easy to see why Nix is so coveted despite having two seasons of high school football left to play. His recruitment will certainly be one to keep an eye on over the next two seasons.
