Recruiting has always been the lifeblood in college football.

Having more recruiting hits than misses is the key to coaching longevity, but anybody can foresee stardom for a five-star receiver who stands 6-foot-4 and boasts a 40-yard dash time of 4.3 seconds. What separates great coaches from good ones is the ability to find those diamonds in the rough, those players who don’t enter college as heralded as some of their peers and have yet to reach their potential.

A number of SEC coaches have consistently done just that, helping to make the conference the unquestioned best in all of college football thanks to dominant recruiting hauls over the years.

The 14 SEC coaches list varying tenures at their respective schools, with LSU’s embattled Les Miles being the dean with his 12 years in Baton Rouge. Alabama’s Nick Saban boasts the next most seniority with 10 years in Tuscaloosa, including four national championships in the past seven seasons. Georgia’s Kirby Smart, South Carolina’s Will Muschamp and Missouri’s Barry Odom are yet to coach their first games at their new schools.

So this isn’t a ranking so much as it is a coach-by-coach celebration of the best players they’ve recruited.

For the purposes of this story, we’re only focusing on the best three, four and five-star recruits that every coach secured at his current SEC program. Rankings are from 247Sports.com’s composite.
