Following an amazing National Championship Game performance against Alabama, Clemson junior quarterback Deshaun Watson was understandably the favorite to bring home the 2016 Heisman Trophy entering the offseason. However, as the regular season inches closer and closer, LSU junior running back Leonard Fournette now sits as the frontrunner to take home college football’s most coveted individual award.

According to online sportsbook Bovada, the Tigers’ main weapon has leapt in front of a crowded pack of top contenders for this year’s Heisman Trophy and currently has 9/2 odds of taking home the award by the end of the season:

Georgia junior running back Nick Chubb has the second best odds from the SEC with 16/1 odds. Chubb of course is attempting to return from a devastating PCL injury that cost him half of last season.

Now the face of the Ole Miss offense, senior quarterback Chad Kelly also has 16/1 odds. Kelly piled up 41 total touchdowns and threw for over 4,000 yards in his SEC debut last season.

Making his first appearance on these odds is Alabama sophomore running back Bo Scarbrough with 20/1 odds, higher than fellow sophomore teammate Calvin Ridley’s 25/1 odds.

Tennessee senior quarterback Joshua Dobbs’ odds have dropped from 16/1 to 33/1, while Texas A&M graduate transfer quarterback Trevor Knight makes an appearance at 50/1 heading into fall camp.
