CBS Sports’ Gary Danielson revealed his favorites and darkhorses in the SEC to Tony Barnhart of GridironNow.com. Danielson called Alabama the “most talented team” in the conference, but believes it will be challenged by a “motivated” LSU team in 2016.

He also predicted Tennessee to win the East, although he thinks the team’s lack of experience closing out games could be a major obstacle.

“Don’t get me wrong. Tennessee is very physical and they are a really good football team,” Danielson said. “But right now they are the least ready to win the tight games. That includes their fans, their players and their coaching staff. That is a big hurdle. They will have to win more than one of those tight games.”

Danielson listed Texas A&M and Missouri as dark horse contenders for each division. He credited the Aggies defense and expects a huge improvement in coordinator John Chavis’ second season.

Danielson also mentioned that Missouri sophomore Drew Lock will continue his development under new offensive coordinator Josh Heupel.
