Are there any media entities picking Mizzou to repeat as Eastern Division champions this fall?

We’re down to the finalists and it doesn’t appear so.

CBS Sports released its staff-wide SEC expert projections on Monday including league order-of-finish and underrated/overrated teams, and like most outlets before it, collectively like an Auburn vs. Georgia matchup in the SEC Championship Game.

LSU and Arkansas were considered the SEC’s most overrated while Texas A&M and Mizzou earned the title of most underrated.

“If (John) Chavis can turn a bad defense into just an average one, the Aggies have the talent and schedule to compete for the West title. Texas A&M has only three true SEC road games — Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, LSU — and faces declining South Carolina as its permanent cross-division opponent,” said Jon Solomon.

As for bold predictions, these guys weren’t afraid to make not-so-trendy picks. Tom Fornelli said no team in the SEC will lose fewer than two games during the season but will the league will still get a Playoff invite.

Chip Patterson’s picking Georgia to win its first SEC Championship since 2005, avenging an earlier-season loss to Alabama or Auburn in Atlanta.

Robby Kalland’s bold prediction? Nick Chubb will become the SEC’s first player to ever rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season, surpassing Herschel Walker’s school-record total. Should that happen, Georgia’s star tailback is a Heisman lock.
