As SEC fans begin watching college football this Thursday, they can expect to see Larry Culpepper. Make that a lot of Larry Culpepper.

Dr Pepper has produced 10 spots this fall in which Culpepper will go tailgating. Ad Age has the details:

Portrayed by actor James M. Connor, the garrulous soda jerk will be featured in 10 new TV spots that are set to air throughout the season and on into January’s College Football Playoff. The first execution, a 30-second spot that introduces the “Tailgate 2000,” a tricked-out RV Larry commandeers in his role as the brand ambassador, began airing on Aug. 22. In the first five days since it premiered, the spot aired 284 times on football-friendly venues like SEC Network, ESPNU, CBS Sports Network and Big Ten Network.

Among his travels, Culpepper will run into various former players, including Steve Spurrier and Jesse Palmer. The above-referenced RV will be traveling to various stadiums this fall. The first stop is AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, or “Jerry World” if you prefer, for Alabama’s showdown with USC.

Culpepper was last featured on Saturday Down South when our own Chris Wuensch included him on a list of the sport’s most annoying things.
