Over the years, all 14 SEC schools have been well-represented in the NFL Draft, but which teams have produced the most talent at which positions? We’ve tried to answer that question by looking back at each school’s NFL Draft choices since 2000, and a few results were somewhat of a surprise.

For starters, LSU has been very prolific in terms of producing defensive backs, with 17 being selected over the last 16 drafts. But over that same span, 15 Tigers wide receivers have been drafted as well.

Mississippi State and Alabama are two of a handful of SEC schools that have sent more defensive tackles to the NFL than any other position, and Ole Miss has produced mostly offensive tackles. Neither of those positions is known for producing “superstars,” but the SEC dominates at those spots.

Led by LSU, SEC programs have produced the most NFL talent at wide receiver since 2000. Coincidentally, over the last 16 NFL Drafts, Auburn has become “Running back U” in the SEC, which makes sense because the Tigers have had the conference’s leading rusher two of the last three seasons.

With 51 players selected in 2016, the SEC led all Power 5 conferences in NFL draftees for the 10th straight year. Here’s a look at how each team has done since the turn of the century:
