Who are the Calvin Ridley types? The electric playmakers that can get 0 to 60 in a hurry and make everybody miss in the open field who are heading to Southeastern Conference football programs in the 2016 class?

Here are the top five to keep an eye on in that department.

Mecole Hardman Jr., CB/ATH, Georgia — Hardman is outstanding with the ball in his hands. He is extremely elusive and the U.S. Army All-American has sub-4.4 second speed in the 40-yard dash. The question is, if he plays corner, will he get the chance to get the ball? Chances are he’s a factor in the return game early in his career.

Dre Massey, WR, Florida — Massey, who arrives in Gainesville via the junior college route, is outstanding carrying the ball from scrimmage. His elusiveness and breakaway speed is much-needed in the Gators receiver corps and his skill set makes him a big play waiting to happen.

Woody Barrett, QB, Auburn — We’ve seen electric players at quarterback under Gus Malzahn over the years and Barrett has the chance to be the next one. He’s a good enough passer for sure, but when he carries the ball from scrimmage, he’s dynamic. It may not be this season, but down the road, Tigers fans will get to know Barrett quite well.

Joshua Jacobs, RB, Alabama — Jacobs was a virtually unknown out of the state of Oklahoma until the final month of the recruiting cycle and the Crimson Tide landed him. He’s the type of back that people like to term the “homerun threat” and has the speed and elusiveness to make things happen carrying the ball from scrimmage.

Trayveon Williams, APB, Texas A&M — It’s exceptionally hard to tackle Williams when you watch what he can do on film. He enrolled early with the Aggies, so there’s a chance he can contribute in one way or the other this coming season.
