The recruitment of Murfreesboro, Tenn., athlete JaCoby Stevens appears to be finally nearing an end, as the five-star prospect plans to announce his college commitment Aug. 8.

Stevens is expected to stay in SEC country and pick between Alabama, LSU, Auburn or Georgia but has also been high on Clemson and Tennessee at times during his recruitment. Long considered a lean to UGA, the Crimson Tide and the Tigers have made late pushes with Stevens and are believed to his current favorites.

Prior to LSU’s late-season slide to end the 2015 season, Stevens had been committed to the Tigers but decommit following the uncertainty surround Les Miles’ future with the school.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Stevens is projected to most likely play in the defensive backfield in college. 247Sports Composite Ratings lists Stevens as a five-star recruit, the No. 2 safety in the nation and the state of Tennessee’s No. 2 prospect.
