The SEC continued its run through the NCAA tournament on Friday, with all three remaining Sweet 16 teams advancing to the Elite Eight.

Each had its own story, with traditional power Kentucky suffocating a highly-touted UCLA squad, Florida surviving a Wisconsin buzzer-beater to win on one of its own, and upstart South Carolina upsetting a Baylor squad that many deemed had the “easiest path to the Final Four.”

And there were jokes. Many, many jokes.

LaVar Ball

The social media world has been fixated on LaVar Ball, the controversial star of UCLA guard Lonzo Ball. The elder Ball has made so many braggadocious statements that for once, often-favored Kentucky was America’s team. After guaranteeing that his son would win the title, many roasted LaVar when the Bruins were bounced in the Sweet 16. To add insult to injury, it was not Lonzo Ball, but Kentucky’s De’Aaron Fox that had a breakout game, scoring 39 points as he out-dueled the other future lottery pick.

South Carolina Twitter remains legendary

After generally trolling everyone into oblivion following their upset of Duke, South Carolina’s official Twitter account is at it again. Usually, schools leave it to their fans to throw pundits’ predictions back in their faces, but South Carolina has been among the funniest to ridicule the so-called experts that have doubted them at every turn. Regardless of the outcome, South Carolina’s Twitter feed is undefeated.

A few more highlights:

Florida wins it at the buzzer

In what was objectively the most fun of the three matchups, Florida beat Wisconsin on a ridiculous buzzer-beater in overtime:

This game nearly ended very differently, as the Gators saw their eight-point lead at the end of regulation evaporate and the Badgers tie it up on a buzzer-beater of their own. All of those ebbs and flows made for some extra fun memes, as each side had a chance to get their jabs in. That being said, this isn’t Saturday Up North, so here are some great ones from UF:
