History of NFL Combine invitations proves Florida is the most talent-rich state
California and Texas are often put into the same category with Florida when it comes to producing an elite level of college football talent. While those two states do produce a ton of players to the college ranks, according to the list of schools having sent the most all-time players to the NFL Combine, Florida deserves to be ranked in its own class.
The top three schools on the list, Florida State, Florida, and Miami have all historically dominated recruiting inside the Sunshine State, and the results are clear by looking over this list.
Schools with most players invited to NFL combine, history:
FSU 226
FLA 224
MIA 224
USC 220
OHST 216
NEB 195
LSU 200
OKL 189
TEN 192
ALA 191— Gil Brandt (@Gil_Brandt) February 21, 2017
Of course, in the modern era of college football, every team on this list now recruits nationally – but it wasn’t always that way. Considering the three Florida schools have historically been loaded with in-state talent, it’s not worth arguing which state has produced the most NFL-caliber talent in the history of the combine – which dates back to 1982.
