Alabama set a program record and Mississippi State cornerback Will Redmond started the run of six SEC players taken in the third round of the NFL draft.

Redmond was the No. 68 overall pick, going to San Francisco 49ers.

Big Ten passes SEC

The SEC, which led all leagues with eight first-round picks and 16 through two, slipped to second after three rounds.

The Big Ten had 10 third-round picks to take the overall lead with 23.
