In 2015 SEC programs signed 25 of the top 47 prospects in the nation (according to 247Sports.com’s composite) and many of those players contributed for their respective teams as freshmen.

Here is an update on the top 25 signees (in order of overall ranking) from the class of 2015.

1) Trent Thompson, DT, Georgia, 5 stars: The top-ranked player in the nation played in 12 of 13 games with 25 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a half sack with three quarterback pressures.

2) Martez Ivey, OL, Florida, 5 stars: Played in 12 games along the left side and started eight. Was named to the SEC Coaches All-Freshman team.

3) Byron Cowart, DE, Auburn, 5 stars: Played reserve minutes in 13 games and finished with six tackles and six quarterback hurries, which were tied for fourth on the team.

6) Kahlil McKenzie, DT, Tennessee, 5 stars: Played in all 13 games as a backup with 24 tackles, one sack and one tackle for loss.

7) CeCe Jefferson, DE, Florida, 5 stars: Emerged as a rising star on the defensive line after playing in 14 games with 29 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.

8) Kevin Toliver II, CB, LSU, 5 stars: Toliver played in 12 games and started eight. He had 35 tackles and an interception. Toliver also had five pass breakups and two tackles for loss.

11) Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama, 5 stars: Ridley was a Freshman All-American and All-SEC Second team and Freshman team performer after leading the team with 89 catches for 1,045 yards and seven touchdowns.

13) Terry Beckner Jr., DT, Missouri, 5 stars: Beckner started five of his ten games played for the Tigers, totaling 27 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and a fumble recovery.

14) Daylon Mack, DT, Texas A&M, 5 stars: Mack played in 13 games and established himself as a force in the center of A&M’s defensive line with 32 tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss.

20) Kendall Sheffield, CB, Alabama, 5 stars: Redshirted.

21) Blake Barnett, QB, Alabama, 5 stars: Redshirted, is part of a three-way quarterback competition.

25) Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M, 5 stars: Kirk led Texas A&M with 80 receptions, 1,009 yards and seven touchdowns. He also had two punt returns for touchdowns and was a Freshman All-American and a member of the All-SEC Freshman team.

27) Tyron Johnson, WR, LSU, 5 stars: Played in nine games as a reserve and had 150 yards and two touchdowns on nine receptions.

28) Terry Godwin, ATH, Georgia, 5 stars: Godwin played in all 13 games, contributing as a receiver and punt returner. He was second on the team with 35 receptions for 379 yards and two touchdowns.

29) Daron Payne, DT, Alabama, 5 stars: Payne played in 15 games primarily as a reserve and finished with 13 tackles and a half sack.

30) Minkah Fitzpatrick, CB, Alabama, 5 stars: Played in 14 games and grew into a starting role. Had 45 tackles and two interceptions with 11 pass breakups. Also had three tackles for loss and two sacks.

31) Damien Harris, RB, Alabama, 5 stars: Harris played in 12 games as a backup and had 157 yards rushing and a touchdown on 46 carries.

33) Kyler Murray, QB, Texas A&M, 5 stars: Murray completed almost 60 percent of his passes for 686 yards and five touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also rushed for 335 yards and a touchdown. He transferred to Oklahoma after the regular season and will be eligible in 2017.

36) Kyle Phillips, DE, Tennessee, 4 stars: Played in seven games on special teams and as a backup with eight tackles, one sack and 1.5 tackles for loss.

37) Maea Teuhema, OG, LSU, 4 stars: Started 11 games at left guard last season and is being moved to left tackle during the spring.

42) Damarkus Lodge, WR, Ole Miss, 4 stars: Lodge played in eight games as a reserve and special teamer. He had one catch for 12 yards and a touchdown.

43) Kerryon Johnson, RB, Auburn, 4 stars: Played in 13 games as a backup, finishing with 222 yards and three touchdown on 52 carries.

44) Deionte Thompson, S, Alabama, 4 stars: Redshirted.

46) Derrius Guice, RB, LSU, 4 stars: Played in 12 games as one of Leonard Fournette’s top backups. Rushed for 436 yards and three touchdowns on 51 carries.

47) Roquan Smith, LB, Georgia, 4 stars: Smith played in 12 games and recorded 20 tackles and a 1.5 tackles for loss.
