Twelve is the most first-round draft picks the SEC has ever had, and that happened in 2013. The SEC tied that record with the ACC, which initially set the record in 2006 with 12.

But according to ESPN NFL Draft Insider Mel Kiper, the SEC will set a new record in 2017.

Kiper has 14 former SEC players going in the first round, including the No. 1 overall pick Myles Garrett to the Cleveland Browns. In addition, Kiper has five SEC players being picked in the top 10, including Leonard Fournette at No. 6 to the New York Jets. Two former Alabama players and two LSU players are projected in the top 10.

Kiper has five former Alabama players being picked in the first round, the most of any school. He also projects LSU and Florida with three each in the first round.
