After months of speculation, the NFL Draft finally got underway on Thursday.

Though there was no SEC player taken in the top five, the league had plenty of exposure during the first round thanks largely to Ole Miss OT Laremy Tunsil.

Here’s a recap of what went down in Chicago:

Laremy Tunsil dominated the NFL Draft coverage on Thursday: Maybe not for the reasons he would have wanted, but the man that was once projected to be the No. 1 overall pick received much more press than new Rams QB Jared Goff. The former Ole Miss OT fell all the way to the Miami Dolphins at the No. 13 pick after an unprecedented social media controversy. First, his Twitter was hacked just minutes before the draft began to show video of him smoking out of a bong while wearing a gas mask. Then, his Instagram was hacked to reveal text messages between Tunsil and Ole Miss coaches that indicate he was being paid. Finally, he capped his bad night by admitting to the arrangement during his press conference.

Leonard Floyd was the SEC’s first off the board: No, it wasn’t Laremy Tunsil or Vernon Hargreaves. Instead, it was the outstanding pass rusher from the Georgia Bulldogs. The Chicago Bears traded up to ensure they could get the outside linebacker with the No. 9 overall pick.

Vernon Hargreaves is the third CB off the board, but he’ll get to stay close to home: While Florida State CB Jalen Ramsey was expected to be the first corner off the board, it was surprising to see Ohio State’s Eli Apple selected No. 10 overall by the New York Giants as the No. 2 cornerback over Hargreaves. In the end, Hargreaves is probably happy that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected him at No. 11. He’s a native of the area, and played his college ball up the road in Gainesville.

Keanu Neal surprises: In what may have been the most surprising pick of the first round, the Atlanta Falcons took the Gators’ hard-hitting safety with the No. 17 overall pick.

Only one Alabama player drafted: Crimson Tide fans were hoping for as many as five Alabama players to be selected in the first round, but Nick Saban’s national championship crew did not approach that number. Center Ryan Kelly was the only player taken in the first round, as the Indianapolis Colts selected him at No. 18 overall. DT A’Shawn Robinson, DT Jarran Reed, LB Reggie Ragland and RB Derrick Henry will be some of the best players on the board at their respective positions when the draft resumes on Friday.

Laquon Treadwell celebrates with his daughter: Laquon Treadwell will forever remember the night he was taken by the Minnesota Vikings, and he’s one of the few that will be able to say he shared that moment with his daughter. We reached our cuteness quota on Thursday night when Treadwell brought her on stage after he was selected with the No. 23 overall pick.

Robert Nkemdiche was a first-rounder after all: The Ole Miss trio had its question marks, but at the end of the day all three were selected. Robert Nkemdiche overcame known character issues to be the third Rebels selected on the night, going to the Arizona Cardinals with the No. 29 overall selection.

Texas A&M keeps the streak alive: For the fourth year in a row, the Aggies have placed an offensive tackle in the first round of the NFL Draft. German Ifedi was the final selection of the first round, going to the Seattle Seahawks with the No. 31 overall pick. That’s an amazing accomplishment.
