There’s a 50-50 chance all-purpose back Anthony McFarland Jr. will be bringing his talents to the SEC. The Dematha Catholic (Hyattsville, Md.) tweeted a top 10 Tuesday afternoon, and five SEC schools – Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas A&M – make the cut.

Miami could be the team to watch if McFarland does not pick an SEC school. On 247Sports’ Crystal Ball, Georgia is shown as the top pick to land McFarland’s commitment, but recruiting experts made those predictions when former coach Mark Richt was with the Bulldogs in 2015. Richt’s new team, the Hurricanes, are one of the current top contenders, along with Alabama and Maryland.

In April, McFarland earned an invite to “The Opening Finals,” Nike’s prestigious competition camp held at the company’s headquarters in Oregon. At the regional Washington D.C. camp, McFarland spoke very highly of Alabama coach Nick Saban, calling him “a god.”
