What we're not overreacting to in the SEC after Week 13
Here’s what we’re not overreacting to in the SEC after Week 13:
Georgia players are upset by the firing of Mark Richt: The Georgia coach was very popular with his players. After meeting with the coach Sunday night, the university brought in security to try to keep the media from talking to the players. The players are scheduled to meet with athletic director Greg McGarity on Monday.

“It just was jacked up,” said senior LB Jordan Jenkins told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Not everybody on the team is sitting right with this. But we’ll find out more stuff tomorrow.” The AJC reported that a security member ordered Jenkins to get in his car. Jenkins complied but kept talking. “All I’ve gotta say is they lost a great man,” Jenkins said. Several defensive players expressed support for keeping defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt.
Fellow coaches are unhappy with Richt’s firing. The Georgia coach won — just not enough big games. He represented the university well. He was well respected by his peers. If Richt was fired for winning more than 70 percent of his games, most coaches are vulnerable.

University administrators can talk about grades, graduation and arrest reports all they want. But the bottom line is results. Richt did everything he was supposed to do and did it well. He just went too long without winning an SEC championship and didn’t win a national title.
There will be changes on the LSU coaching staff. Though Les Miles kept his job, he knows how discontent some LSU administrators, boosters and fans are after a late-season collapse. Changes are going to be made, beginning with the coaching staff.
Les Miles is safe, but staff changes still a possibility at LSU https://t.co/nihew23q6d

Offensive coordinator Cam Cameron is likely to be fired — unless he finds another job first. The former Indiana University coach and NFL assistant wasn’t able to develop a solid passing game for the Tigers. That failure was a primary reason for LSU’s failures of the past few seasons.
