You’ll have to excuse Patriots owner Robert Kraft. He just had a chance at a Super Bowl thwarted by Peyton Manning, and the same happened at the hands of Eli. Twice.

Kraft’s club lost to Peyton’s Broncos in the AFC Championship Game, 20-18. Denver’s defense was simply too much for quarterback Tom Brady, who only completed 48.2 percent of his passes while being sacked four times and intercepted twice.

Peyton would go on to claim his second Super Bowl ring. That’s after Eli upstaged Brady twice, earning Super Bowl MVPs in both of the Giants’ wins over the Patriots in the 2007 and 2011 seasons.

Kraft obviously had a line ready when speaking with Maria Stephanos of WCVB-TV when he said this:

“I happened to see Archie (Manning) there. He has two sons who have won two Super Bowls (each). But with all due respect, we have one son who has won four.”

Well, with all due respect, the Mannings have gone to six Super Bowls with five different head coaches, winning four of those six. That’s also impressive.

There’s no doubt Peyton and Eli have shared a Budweiser or two while talking about their triumphs over the Patriots.
