It looks as though CBS has its replacement for Uncle Verne lined up.

According to FOX Sports’ Clay Travis, ESPN’s Brad Nessler will leave the company to do NFL for CBS Sports until eventually sliding into Verne Lundquist’s role as the network’s lead play-by-play commentator for the “SEC on CBS.”

Nessler, who turns 60 on June 3, has been a mainstay with ESPN when it comes to college football, having called college football games for the network since 1997. He joined the network in 1992.

Lundquist, who turns 76 on July 17, has been doing the same for CBS and specifically for SEC football since 2000.
