Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston left a historic legacy at Florida State. The former Seminole won a Heisman Trophy and national championship during his redshirt freshman season in 2013 and went on to be the No. 1 overall draft pick in the 2015 NFL Draft.

But apparently Winston would do things differently if given the chance. Leading up to this Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers, the quarterback said he would’ve loved the opportunity to attend nearby Stanford.

“It was really me just not really knowing how prestigious Stanford really was,” Winston told Bay Area media this week, prior to the Bucs’ game against the 49ers. “I look back all the time and see how if I went to Stanford what way my life could have turned. But, you know, you make your decisions and you go with them and you own them.

“Yeah, I mean, just because Stanford is a great school,” Winston said when asked to confirm he’d re-do his college choice. “You are who you place yourself around. I would have just loved the opportunity to go to Stanford and be around some of my friends out there.”

This isn’t the first time Winston’s allegiance has been questioned. In 2015, he trained  with Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh — formerly with the 49ers — in Ann Arbor. The Heisman winner gushed about the Wolverines’ facilities and compared them to FSU’s.

“These guys don’t know how blessed they are to have this kind of facility,” Winston told MGoBlue.com, as posted by SBNation. “I mean, Florida State, we’re a very prestigious school, we have nice stuff, but we don’t have this. I’m sorry, I love Florida State. Go ‘Noles till the day I die, but they’re so much [more] advanced than us.”

This surely won’t make FSU fans very happy, will it?
