Former Texas wide receiver Ryan Newsome listed Alabama, Tennessee and Texas A&M among his top six schools showing mutual interest as potential transfer destinations during an exclusive interview with 247Sports Tuesday night. Newsome is also considering Michigan State, Arizona State and USC.

“I know more schools will come after me but more than likely that list won’t change,” Newsome told the site. “I’m really excited for those schools and I know for a fact those schools are interested in me. I’m visiting Arizona State and Michigan State next week.”

Newsome announced his intention to transfer from Texas on Monday and was granted his release on Tuesday. However, he is permitted from transferring to any Big 12 school, as well as Notre Dame and Cal, who Texas will play in 2016.

Newsome is a former four-star prospect and ranked as the No. 224 overall player from the 2015 national signing class. He caught four passes for 23 yards in seven games for the Longhorns last season, and he will have four years to play three wherever he transfers.
