The SEC announced its 2014 football awards Wednesday afternoon, one day after it released its All-SEC teams for the regular season. The annual awards were voted on by the league’s coaches, who could not vote for their own players.

The 2014 awards are as follows:

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Amari Cooper, WR, Alabama

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Shane Ray, DE, Missouri

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Marcus Murphy, RB, Missouri

FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR

Nick Chubb, RB, Georgia

SCHOLAR-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR

Chris Conley, WR, Georgia

JACOBS BLOCKING TROPHY

La’el Collins, OT, LSU

COACH OF THE YEAR

Ray became the second Missouri defensive end to be named SEC Defensive Player of the Year in the last two years, following in the footsteps of former Tigers star Michael Sam. Pinkel earned his first SEC Coach of the Year honor in his third year in the conference.

Cooper and Ray were both named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year by the Associated Press on Monday. Chubb was also named SEC Freshman of the Year by the AP.
