Every week throughout the season, we’ll provide some video highlights of the SEC’s top commits and targets.

SEC Commits

Vosean Joseph, LB, 3-star Florida commit (Miami, FL): Just a three-star, Vosean Joseph plays will reckless abandon, and his mid-season highlights are out. Joseph isn’t afraid to throw around his body and put vicious hits on opposing players. Joseph is very raw, and Florida linebacker coach Randy Shannon picked another cherry from South Florida. Joseph just needs to be coached up, and he could have a big-time college career. He reminds me of a Jonathan Vilma-type hitter who is feared by opponents.

Elijah Holyfield, RB, 4-star Georgia commit (College Park, GA): Holyfield is the SEC’s second highest rated running back commit, behind only Alabama’s BJ Emmons, and he’s having a very nice year. He’s rated as the country’s No. 5 overall running back, and the SEC’s current Running Back U is adding to its talented backfield next season. Holyfield has a raw combination of speed, power and vision, and he has the talent to be an every-down back in the SEC.

Brandon McIlwain, QB, 4-star South Carolina commit (Newtown, PA): You think Steve Spurrier can wait to get Brandon McIlwain on campus? South Carolina’s offense needs an elite quarterback, and McIlwain is certainly the future. Lorenzo Nunez has certainly provided a spark, but McIlwain is in a whole different league. He reminds me of a Chris Leak-type pocket passer, who probably has better mobility than Leak.

SEC Targets

Freddie Swain, WR, Uncommitted: Swain is choosing Friday between Florida, Tennessee and USC, and he said via Twitter that it’s going to be a “shocker.” Swain has been a Florida lean for quite some time, and it would be a shocker if he chose anywhere else other than Florida. He’s also scheduled to take a visit to Knoxville this weekend, but some think that visit will never happen. Regardless, Swain is a big-time receiving talent who will make an impact wherever he lands.
