It’s always interesting to see what the numbers tell us, and with one third of the season now in the books, we’re starting to figure out what teams really are and what they aren’t.

Texas A&M still has the best statistical offense, averaging over 612 total yards of offense, but don’t look now because Alabama is right on the Aggies’ heels, averaging over 587 yards. How do you do, Lane Kiffin?

Alabama, Ole Miss and LSU have the three best statistical defenses, with Alabama giving up just 250.3 yards of total defense and allowing opponents just 62 rushing yards per game. Mississippi State and Auburn are two other defenses allowing less than 100 yards rushing per game.
