So much for the theory that Florida was attempting to duck LSU to make the road to the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta. It was announced on Thursday the Gators will travel to LSU on Nov. 19 in exchange for the Tigers travelling to Gainesville the next two seasons.

For some unexplained reason, the topic of Florida attempting to ease its path to Atlanta was discussed ad nauseam during the last week however, according to the SEC office, neither Florida or LSU would have been eligible to advance to Atlanta if neither school played eight conference games.

The SEC Commissioner’s Regulations requires each football team play all eight Conference games in a season in order to be eligible to compete for a divisional title and play in the SEC Championship Game.  Had the game not been rescheduled, Florida and LSU would have been ineligible to compete for the SEC title this season.

Take a deep breath SEC fans, no team is going to sneak into Atlanta this season…
