Eleven former SEC players and one coach made this year’s College Football Hall of Fame ballot.

According to the National Football Foundation, 5.06 million people have played college football, and just 963 of those are members of the College Football Hall of Fame. That’s a very, very small number.

Here are this year’s nominations with SEC ties. (This list excludes Texas A&M LB Dat Nguyen, who led the team in tackles four consecutive years and won Bednarik Award and Lombardi Trophy as an All-American in 1998.)

Florida OT Lomas Brown
Kentucky QB Tim Couch
Alabama RB Bobby Humphrey
LSU QB Bert Jones
Tennessee DB Bobby Majors
Auburn DB Buddy McClinton
Arkansas LB Cliff Powell
Tennessee WR Larry Seivers
Georgia OT Matt Stinchcomb
Tennessee LB Jackie Walker
Georgia DB Scott Woerner
Clemson/Arkansas coach Danny Ford

Making the ballot requires a first-team All-American selection, being out of college football for 10 years, being out of professional football and playing college football within the last 50 years. Coaches must have coached at least 10 years and 100 games, winning at least 60 percent of those, and be retired for three years.

Voting by NFF members ends June 20.
