The Rimington Trophy is an annual award given to the best center in the nation, the 2015 trophy was presented to-then Alabama senior Ryan Kelly.

Kelly, of course, was a first-round pick of the Colts this past draft at No. 18 overall, and he should have a big-time NFL career.

For the 2016 season, the SEC has eight centers who are on the trophy watch list, according to the Rimington Trophy’s official website, which was released today.

Here are those eight:

  • Alan Knott- South Carolina, Redshirt Junior, 6-foot-4, 280 pounds.
  • Brandon Kublanow- Georgia, Senior, 6-foot-3, 282 pounds.
  • Coleman Thomas- Tennessee, Junior, 6-foot-5, 301 pounds.
  • Ethan Pocic- LSU, Senior, 6-foot-7, 309 pounds.
  • Frank Ragnow- Arkansas, Junior, 6-foot-5, 314 pounds.
  • Jamaal Clayborn- Mississippi State, Senior, 6-foot-4, 315 pounds.
  • Jon Toth- Kentucky, Senior, 6-foot-5, 310 pounds.
  • Robert Conyers- Ole Miss, Senior, 6-foot-5, 290 pounds.
